The mineral trioxide aggregate (MTA) is a hydrophilic and biocompatible endodontic cement, capable of stimulating healing and osteogenesis. It consists of a powder of fine trioxides and other hydrophilic particles (tricalcium silicate, tricalcium aluminate, responsible for the chemical and physical properties of this aggregate), which hardens in the presence of humidity. The hydration of the powder results in the formation of a colloidal gel with pH 12.5, which solidifies in a structure in about 3 to 4 hours. MTA application : •PULP CAPPING : MTA stimulates dentin bridge formation adjacent to the dental pulp . •PERFORATION REPAIR : Cementum has been shown to grow over MTA, allowing for normal attachment of the periodontal ligament . •PROMOTE THE FORMATION OF AN APICAL BARRIER : MTA provides a good apical seal and studies demonstrated newly formed bone, periodontal ligament, and cementum in direct contact with MTA . •ROOT END FILLING •ROOT RESORPTION REPAIR •PULPOTOMY AND PULP REGENERATION By: https://www.instagram.com/p/Ct7Ln4ttE31/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link&igshid=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==
