Wondering if psychological trauma or emotional trauma really deserve seeking for medical attention. I think its a problem that one has to solve silently. What do you think?

What Nia said. Just because you haven't suffered from real depression, anxiety along with panic attacks etc. doesn't mean millions of others in your country haven't, but they probably suffer silently in very many cases. Suicide is the most common cause of death for males between 15-45 in many developed countries. These are real medical issues. I agree that they can be hard to understand if you haven't been there yourself (I haven't for example) but you're doing the people experiencing chronic mental issues a real disservice by not taking these things seriously. We have the medical treatment and expertise to help and therefore no one should have to suffer silently. It can have disastrous long lasting consequences for that person, and even people around her/him. I currently live and study in Romania and there's a problem here in that many people - like you said earlier - don't recognise these things being diseases, just as they don't take it seriously if you're a man and you get physically/mentally abused by your wife or another female member of your family. In their eyes you're a "pussy" that has to "man the fuck up". These mindsets stem from lack of education, nothing else. I really hope you'll start to realize this as you become a physician (if that's what you're aiming for) Because if you don't, I think, quite frankly, that you wouldn't be a very good one.

i dont know what your definition of medical attention is but if youre implying that one should deal with emotional or psychological trauma alone, that is a very harmful mindset. especially in the medical field where it is becoming increasingly evident that mental health affects physical health.

Medical attention is searched for by the patient not the doctor & if the patient, his family or the entire society dont appreciate the disease/disorder then the patient will not look for med attention

Am saying that, because people of more poor areas of the world when getting in such situations they dont considered it as a psychological issue, they are even not aware enough about what psychology is, doctors specialized in psychology in my country don't deal with young pple relationships, but rather with schizophrenics and bipolar, even depression is not a disease in my country and if got it you have to solve it in your own you dont tell your mom or dad about such issues, and soonly you will be back, on the other hand western countries where all life facilities and enjoyment is they spend millions in researches regarding such "minor" proplems in other African countories

Not everyone has the tools to solve emotional and psychological trauma “silently”. Mental health isn’t something anyone should battle alone. If someone is willing to cause harm to themselves or others they should not be deprived of medical attention because of a stigma that it’s a “personal problem”. This is one of the reasons why individuals struggle to seek help for mental trauma because of the mind set that they should handle it by themselves. Just because one person has the tools to handle emotional regulation and practice radical acceptance or something like interpersonal effectiveness doesn’t mean 50,000 other people have knowledge of that. Like the last person said, mental and physical health go hand and hand. You have to protect your psych just like someone would protect their arm or leg.

I do agree that mental & physical health cant be separated apart, but the point is" living in a society that do not appreciate personal emotional psychological issues, where no care is given for those affected & they themselves they dont ask for it , makes such disorders things that you should deal with by your own" you govern how far you affected by some that left you or hurts you! You will learn how to control your temptations, feelings & relationships easy- all in my country but you have to "pop it up".
