The pathophysiology of DiGeorge syndrome consists of microdeletions of 1.5–3 million base pairs on the long arm of chromosome 22 [2], which is one of the most structurally complex regions in the genome [4]. There are approximately 90 genes in a typical 3Mb 22q11.
