How is shoulder dystocia diagnosed?

Your obstetrician will diagnose shoulder dystocia if three factors are met: You delivered your baby’s head but you aren’t able to push your baby’s shoulders out. At least one minute has passed since your baby’s head has emerged but their body hasn’t. Your baby needs medical intervention to be delivered successfully.
