8 yrs boy with unbearable pain, often suffering from overheating and extreme itching
Icthyosis vulgaris : genetic disorders charecterized by failure of removal of dead superficial keratinized layers of skin resulting in accumulation of keratine and dry dead skin . Skin become dry with pruritus and scaling . Condition is mild in heterozygous but become sever in homozygous and accompanied by painful fissuring of skin . Sweating is decreased so patient feel hot especially if he lives in cold dry environment , and become better in humid warm environment . Treatment no definitive curative treatment , only symptomatic ,as : keratolytic preparation as salicylic acid ,glycolic acid . Moisturizing preparation as : petroleum jelly , propylene glycol . Oral isotretinoine to decrease keratin production. Living in warm humid environment
