Arboviral encephalitis
What is arboviral encephalitis? Encephalitis is an inflammation of the brain that can be caused by an Arthropod borne virus (arbovirus). Arthropods include mosquitoes and ticks. In Illinois, arboviruses are transmitted to humans by the bites of infected mosquitoes.
