In inflammatory bowel disease an abdominal x rays should be taken daily when transverse colon is dilated more than 6 cm why x rays taken on daily basis????

Maybe because it is the best way of follow up the patient(for perforation and necrosis and prognosis), considering its cost-effectiveness and availability?
