Hepadnavirus B
Hepadnavirus B (hepatitis B virus, HBV) belongs to the genus Orthohepadnavirus of the family Hepadnaviridae and is an important cause of viral hepatitis in humans worldwide. Other important viruses within this family are woodchuck hepatitis B virus, duck hepatitis virus, and ground squirrel hepatitis B virus.
