Causes of massive hemothorax
Known causes include tumour, anticoagulant therapy, arteriovenous malformation, pulmonary emboli, and tuberculosis. Tube thoracostomy drainage to evacuate unclotted blood and monitor bleeding is the first consideration in cases of haemothorax.
