BACTERIAL MENINGITIS

Meningitis is an infection of the membranes that cover the brain and spinal cord. The most common causes of meningitis are viral infections. These infections usually get better without treatment. However, bacterial meningitic infections are extremely serious. They can cause death or brain damage even with treatment. Meningitis can also be caused by: Chemical irritation, drug allergies, fungi, parasites, and tumors.

Incredible picture…not much brain remaining. I would like to know which bacterium caused this much destruction. Terrible….
