Type I: a single main canal from the pulp chamber to the apex of the root Type II: two separate canals starting from the pulp chamber and joining as one, just short of the root apex Type III: two separate canals starting from the pulp chamber to the root apex Type IV: a single canal starting from the pulp chamber and dividing into two canals near the root apex
