What a disaster looks like!!! This is the result of a bacterial culture showing the bacteria resistance to most commonly described antibiotics. This happens because of self medicated population...(i have flu...antibiotics....i have headache....antibiotics..etc) so these idiotics actions will kill millions in the future because bacteria is smart and will always develop ways to survive these drugs... also pharmacutical companies dont make new generations of AB anymore, because it takes them years and millions of $ to make one AB to be useless in a year because people abuse it. So the next "super smart bacteria" killing millions will be made by our actions!! By medicalcortex (IG)
As you can see, this is not the whole list. Just a part of it, so it's even worse than it seems
I don't think the problem is the self-medicated, or at least not the only reason. Prescribers are the main problem. They are giving away antibiotics like water. I'm not talking about everyone, and not only about doctors, it includes nurses and physician assistants. But a lot of prescribers do. I went to the urgent care about two years ago, and they couldn't find anything specific. They even checked for meningitis. They couldn't find anything bacterial, and said it was probably viral, yet they gave me antibiotics. That was the second time that year that I took (prescribed) antibiotics (first was for pneumonia). That time I developed hives and they told me to stop all treatment. My brother went to the hospital because he "couldn't breath." They did x-rays, and there was nothing. They gave him antibiotics. My mom went to the doctor because she had nausea, vomiting and dizziness. They did strep test, and it was negative. They said it was probably a stomach bug, and gave her antibiotics. I have heard of people countless times that they have viral infections and they are given antibiotics. They take it because their doctor told them to. I learned not to take them, unless I believe it's necessary. They are using them as a preventive medication instead of treatment.
Oh, that's awful. I've seen those cases too. Every time my mom complains about something people give her prescribed medications. One time they gave her one for pain I think it was, and she it caused her terrible side effects, she thought she was being poisoned. I told her, "that is why you never take meds from other people!"
What you say is also true, no doubt! But the main problem in this case was that this patient tried to be his own "doctor" and definitely used wrong medications to treat himself. These unprofessional decisions (in this and also your case) should be avoided as much as possible and leave the work to the experienced professionals.
