Liver function tests are blood tests used to help diagnose and monitor liver disease or damage. The tests measure the levels of certain enzymes and proteins in your blood. The most common blood test taken for liver function test is aminotransferases. If your liver function test results range between 7-56 units/litre for ALT and 10-40 got AST, your liver function is normal. A liver function panel is done to learn information about the levels of: Albumin and total protein, which help build and maintain muscles, bones, blood, and organ tissue. Low levels may be seen with liver disease or kidney disease, or nutritional problems.
