What can cause orgasm problems in women?
Women have orgasms problems as well. They may not be able to achieve climax with a partner. Sometimes they are able to orgasm by masturbation and oral sex but not by vaginal intercourse. There are several underlying causes, especially psychological. Some causes include; • Insufficient stimulation • Sexual performance anxiety • Mood disorder • Decline in physical health • History of sexual trauma • Unhealthy relationship with partner • Hormonal imbalance as in menopause • Medicines e.g. Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitors (SSRIs) • History of gynaecological surgery e.g. hysterectomy • Serious health conditions e.g. multiple sclerosis, heart disease
