Name the conditions in which occipital nerve stimulation can be used as a treatment?
A number of painful conditions may be treated with occipital nerve stimulation which include chronic intractable primary and secondary headache. Primary headache include migraine, cluster headache, hemicrania continua and short-lasting unilateral neuralgiform headache attacks with conjunctival injection and tearing (SUNCT) and secondary headache consists of cervicogenic headache, post-traumatic headache and occipital neuralgia. Other than chronic primary and secondary headaches a few more headaches such as chronic headache attributed to whip lash, headache secondary to idiopathic intracranial hypertension, postherpetic neuralgia and occipital headaches can also be treated with occipital nerve stimulation
