Parts of Exercise Program for Kidney Transplant Break down your exercise program in 3 parts. • Warm up Warming up your body before exercise is important as it prevents direct stress on your muscles, heart and breathing. Start with stretching and move to the actual exercise keeping the intensity low. • Conditioning phase Start your exercise but avoid high intensity as it affects your heart and breathing. Keep it slow but effective. • Cool down phase Avoid stopping the exercise suddenly. Slow down the activity and gradually come to halt. You will notice labored breathing, sweating, and palpitations. After 5-10 minutes of lying down or standing still these signs will return to their normal values. Avoid sitting after the exercise.
