Pseudomyxoma peritonei is also referred to as 'jelly belly'. The condition is characterized by accumulation of mucinous substance in abdomen and pelvis. It usually occurs secondary to rupture of mucinous appendix tumor. Ovarian tumor may also metastasize to form similar picture.
