Prevention of Doctor-patient Viral Conjunctivitis (Pink Eye) Transmission • Patients with relevant symptoms and red eye must not wait in general waiting area with other patients. • There should be separate examination room/area for patients with red eyes. • After examining patients with red eye, thorough disinfection is important. • Doctors and paramedic staff must not shake hands with any patient with red eyes. Give them the reason so they don’t feel humiliated. • After checkup, patients must be instructed to check-out from clinic without stopping or greeting anyone anywhere. • Follow-up should be via video call or voice call.
