Asthma attack is an episode of few minutes to few hours presenting with breathlessness, chest tightness, coughing, sense of oppression, and suffocation. In asthma attack, the bronchioles constrict producing difficulty in breathing. An attack can occur any time especially when a person is exposed to known allergen. It may subside on its own when the allergen is removed. In severe cases, it is necessary to go to nearest hospital for nebulization.
