Symptoms of Staphylococcus Infections Staph. aureus; • Abscess- swelling, pain, tenderness, warmth, yellow or white pus, fever with chilld • Food poisoning – vomiting with or without non-bloody watery diarrhea • Toxic Shock Syndrome (TSS) – fever, hypotension, burn-like macular rash • Scalded Skin Syndrome – fever, bullae, erythematous maculopapular rash that continues to desquamate, loss of hair and nails Staph. epidermidis; • Skin infections – pain, tenderness, swelling, purpura, sores, blisters, fever, yellow crust Staph. saprophyticus; • Urinary Tract Infection (UTI) – dysuria, purulent discharge, nocturia, cloudy urine, hematuria
