Who should not give blood?
The health of donor is the utmost priority of blood service. You should not donate blood if; • You are anaemic • You are feeling unwell • You are pregnant, have been pregnant within the last year or are breastfeeding • You have certain medical conditions e.g. blood conditions, cancer, ebola, HIV AIDS, active TB, active hepatitis, and active STD • You are taking certain medications e.g. antibiotics • You have ever injected recreational, non-medicinal drugs • You have recently had a tattoo, skin scarification or ear or body piercing • You have had sexual contact with anyone in the above categories.
