Tinnitus or ringing of ears is a condition in which a person hears an abnormal ringing, buzzing or whirring sound in absence of a source. This may be a continuous or intermittent sound and with varied intensity. Unfortunately there is no cure other than removing the precipitating factor such as discontinuation of the ototoxic drugs or treating ear infection.
