Autism is a group of disorders characterized by difficulty in social skills, non-verbal communication, speech, repetitive behavior and difficulty in dealing with change. The incidence of disease is very high( 1 out of 54 children suffer from autism).Autism is wide group of conditions so every patients may have distinct set of issues and patients may have very varied solutions. The exact cause of ASD is unknown but is believed to be genetic and environmental. Treatment options are: behavioral management, CBT, early intervention, joint attention therapy and medication (symptom based: anti-anxiety, antidepressants).
