Grave's Ophthalmopathy

Exophthamos (proptosis) is a characteristic feature of Grave's disease. It is episodic and 50% of the patients with Grave's disease present with Grave's ophthalmopathy at the time of presentation. Treatment options include methylcellulose eye drops to prevent dryness, sunglasses to prevent lacrimation, steroids and surgical decompression of the orbit.
