Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) is much more than winter blues. Diagnostic Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-5) classified SAD as Major Depressive Disorder with Seasonal Pattern. In this mental condition, the affected individuals experience symptoms of depression in winter while they get better as soon as spring and summer arrive. This happens due to biochemical changes in brain due to limited exposure to sunlight and long duration without it.
