The circle of Willis is an anastomosis of arterial network which harbours the blood supply to the brain and prevents loss of blood supply to its different parts as a result of obstruction along one of the arteries. The arteries participating include: Posterior cerebral arteries, posterior communicating arteries, middle cerebral arteries, internal carotid arteries, anterior cerebral arteries and anterior communicating arteries
