Clubbing

Clubbing is defined as the loss of angle between the nail and the nail base. Various reason can be associated with clubbing and this includes: 1. Respiratory causes: Chronic suppurative conditions ( bronchiectasis, lung abscess), lung cancer, fibrosis alveolitis 2. Cardiovascular causes: Cyanotic heart diseases (Fallot’s tetralogy, transposition of great arteries) 3. Gastrointestinal causes: Malabsorption syndrome, Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis, brisket biliary cirrhosis 4.
