Molluscum Contagiosum in Viral Conjunctivitis (Pink Eye) Molluscum contagiosum is a viral infection which manifests as flesh-colored, raised and round bumps on skin. These bumps vary in size but usually limit to a small size. They turn red, inflamed and itchy. The lesions or bumps appear on arms, neck, face and armpits. Virus in the irritative eyelid lesion undergoes viral shedding. The viral particles shed into conjunctival sac from the lesion. This produces chronic follicular conjunctivitis.
