Initial Resuscitation Management for Upper GI Bleeding 1. Clean, clear and manage the airway to prevent blocking. Prepare for intubation or suctioning if necessary. 2. Provide oxygen to maintain SATS >96% 3. Check and improve/maintain BP and HR 4. Large bore IV access x 2 5. VBG to check lactate level, Hb level and acidosis 6. Send lab bloods for U+Es, clotting, FBC 7. Initiate IV fluid resuscitation 8. Check glucose level
