Gower sign is a classic examination sign seen in cases of muscular dystrophy (Duchenne muscular dystrophy, myotonic dystrophy, becker muscular dystrophy ), dermatomyosotis and Pompe disease I’m order to get up from the sitting position, the child assumes a prone position and supports himself with elbows and knees. The elbows and knees are then extended to assist in raising the body. This sign is seen when there is the weakness of proximal muscle of lower limb.
