Dengue vs. Pre-eclampsia During pregnancy, pre-eclampsia is a common occurrence. Interestingly, the symptoms of pre-eclampsia are quite similar to dengue infection. Overlapping of signs and symptoms makes the differentiation quite difficult. The signs and symptoms that overlap include • Thrombocytopenia • Impaired liver function • Ascites • Capillary leak • Oliguria The two conditions are differentiated on the basis of serology.
