What other cerebellar signs can you check for other than nystagmus?
The cerebellum functions for coordination of voluntary movements such as posture, balance, speech and coordination between all these. Cerebellar signs include: nystagmous, dysdiadokinesis, dysmetria, ataxia, intentional tremors, slurred speech and hypotonia. Dysdiadokinesia is difficulty doing rapid repetitive movements. Dysmetria is past pointing from intended point. Ataxia is abnormal, stumbling, drunken gait. Intentional tremors comprise of increased frequency of tremors when doing any action intentionally.
