Characteristics of Molluscum Contagiosum-induced Viral Conjunctivitis (Pink Eye) • Molluscum contagiosum is a viral infection which manifests as flesh-colored, raised and round bumps on skin. These bumps vary in size but usually limit to a small size. They turn red, inflamed and itchy. The lesions or bumps appear on arms, neck, face and armpits. Virus in the irritative eyelid lesion undergoes viral shedding. • The viral particles shed into conjunctival sac from the lesion. This produces chronic follicular conjunctivitis.
