What is the role of convalescent plasma in the treatment of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19)?
Convalescent Plasma for COVID-19 Treatment Convalescent plasma is the blood obtained from eligible donors. The donors are people who recover from COVID-19. Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) was granted by Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to use convalescent plasma. The plasma contains antibody rich plasma products produced by the immune system of donor when fighting against the infection. The hospitalized patients receive convalescent plasma which aids the immune system of recipient to fight the virus.
