16 year old male. Overweight. Tonsillitis since birth. Suffering from moderate case sleep apnea. Treatment suggestions excluding surgical options.
First I would recommend to lose weight, if obese. First line is tonsillectomy, but CPAP could be usefull as alternative.
PAtient has an indication fo surgery because has an episodic of sleep apneu but if u better falmacological option so giv abcs fot patient if in acut phase such cefad, give steroid for patient and anti histamin drug. Hope ans ur question
He can manage his moderate obstructive sleep apnea(OSA) on CPAP if so far its his only complaint.
Start off by saying I’m not a Dr. however, I did have all the same conditions since I was a kid. Each time I took antibiotics for my prostatitis (4weeks) they would reduce by say at least a third and stay that way. They have not regrow back to the large size. I am also on CPAP and love it. If your patient can get past the beginning, they will also love the fact that they can now sleep well. My two cents as a patient with the same conditions
