Lymphoedema happens in part or parts of body where lymphatic system is not functioning properly. It can be localised or diffused in upper or lower limbs. It commonly effects females and is associated with obesity. Clinical features include heaviness in the limb, altered sensation, joint discomfort, changes in temperature of the skin and reduced range of movement. Treatment includes keeping the skin clean to reduce infection, simple lymphatic drainage, compression bandaging, excercise and movement and surgery.
