What is Grave's Disease and what are the causes of Grave's Disease?
Grave’s Disease is the most commonly occurring form of hyperthyroidism. It is an autoimmune condition in which thyroid gland produces too much thyroid hormones producing the symptoms of hyperthyroidism. Common symptoms include anxiety and stress, shaking of hands, increased sensitivity to heat, increased sweating, warm and sweaty skin, increased metabolism causing weight loss, bulging of eyes (Grave’s ophthalmopathy),and irregular heart beat. The causes of Grave’s Disease are - Autoimmune - Genetic influence - Gender i.e. women - Age i.e. before the age of 40 - Emotional stress - Physical stress - Pregnancy - Smoking
