Abdominal pain can be caused by many reasons. Abdomen is divided into 9 regions and they can hint towards the cause of the pain according to the organ on the site. Right hypochondrial pain can be caused by a liver abscess, cholilithiasis, cholecystitis, HCC, hepatitis or any liver and gallbladder related pathology. Epigastric pain can be triggered by GERD, gastroenteritis, MI, peptic ulcer disease pancreatitis. Left hypochondrial pain can be the result of splenomegaly, trauma to spleen causing rupture or due to pancreatitis (acute or chronic), pancreatic cancer. Lumber pains can be due to trauma or due to kidney stones or hydronephresis, ureter stone, uti. Iliac quadrants pain can be due to appendicitis, diverticulitis, crohns disease, ulcerative colitis, ovarian cysts or cancers. Umbilical region pain can be due to appendicitis, hernia strangulation, ascites. Hypogastric pain can be due to cystitis or uterus pathologies like a polyp or mass.
