Management of acute asthma: Give the patient oxygen inhalation with his head end raised. Nebulize immediately with a bronchodilator or use a Ventolin (salbutamol) inhaler_ 4-5 puffs and repeat after 30 to 60 mins Inject solucortef (hydrocortisone) IV immediately and repeat after 6 hour if required. The patient is to be kept on an antibiotic for several days if there is an evidence of infection.
