Because covid protein are thrombogenic and produce thrombosis so antithrombotics prevent clot formation in vital organ.

Antithrombotic Therapy in COVID-19 In severe COVID-19, patients suffer from microvascular thrombosis. To overcome such conditions, clinical trials are being conducted to recommend antithrombotic therapy in treatment of COVID-19. According to current studies and research trials, there is no evidence that suggests efficacy of antithrombotic therapy in COVID-19 patients.
