If the spoon is big it will be lodged in the esophagus but if it is small enough it can be further into the digestive tract and can be seen on a plain abdominal radiograph. It is removed surgically.
But how, the esophagus is only small, and the head part of the teaspoonwould probably get stuck aswell?
Ahhhh,but how would it even fit down into the body as spoon swallowing is a rare event, and the oesophagus does not open that wide?
