The Human Heart

The Human Heart

At an average rate of 80 times a minute, the heart beats about 115,000 times in one day, or about 42 million times in a year. In a 70 year lifetime, also at an average the human heart will beat more than 2,5 billion times. & even when a person is at rest, the heart continuously works hard. But where does actually the love of Humans come from? The Human heart has a mind of its own. Some of us think hat the brain is controlling our emotions, but Professor David Paterson, Ph.D. at Oxford University, disputes this. He says the brain is not the only organ that produces emotions. This is cuz the heart actually contains neurons similar to those in the brain, and these fire in conjunction with the brain. The heart and the brain are therefore connected, so when your heart receives signals from the brain via the sympathetic nerves, it pumps faster. And when it receives signals through the parasympathetic nerves, it slows down It is our heart working in tandem with our brain that allows us to feel these love… It is ultimately what makes us human… Compassion is the heart’s gift to the rational mind.
