Laboratory Tests for Suspected Dengue • Nucleic Acid Amplification Tests (NAATs); performed within 7 days of onset of symptoms. • Dengue RNA PCR Test; identifies dengue in its initial stage with its specific sterotype • Complete Blood Count (CBC); - Thrombocytopenia i.e. < 150,000 cells/mm3 - Leukpenia i.e. < 5000 cells/ mm3 - Elevated hematocrit i.e. 5-10%
