Epiglottitis Epiglottitis is a bacterial infection which involves inflammation of supraglottic area and superior portion of larynx. This disease presents with severe sore throat, painful swallowing and difficulty in breathing. Epiglottitis manifests commonly in adults than in children. Causative agents; Group A Streptococci, M catarrhalis and S pneumonia.
