Asthma Overview: Asthma is a chronic condition that causes bronchial constriction. Causes: allergies, genetics, can be idiopathic History: people with asthma may have history of recurring respiratory infections or have a family member with asthma Symptoms: Chest tightness or pain, Shortness of breath, wheezing, and cough Diagnostic: Asthma may be diagnosed with a PFT/spirometry, Chest X-ray, allergy test, history, or inflammation markers Treatment: short term relievers, inhaled steroids, oral steriods, etc Monitoring: monthly or ever 3 months EVEN THOUGH CAN BE MANAGED CANT BE CURED
