Deep vein thrombosis is seen in many conditions. It may be silent or symptomatic. IT can be slow in onset or sudden presentation like pulmonary embolism. Basic risk factors that can lead to DVT include: major surgery (stays bed ridden), paralysis, cancers, pregnancy and travelling or activity that requires long periods sitting, obesity, patients on OCPs and patient with age above 40years.
