What are the sign and symptoms of alcohol withdrawl?
Alcohol intake causes depression of CNS function. When consumed regularly the body gets into a habit of staying in the depressed state. To gain the normal function back the body has to go through a cleansing process which exhibits signs and symptoms. These signs are called alcohol withdrawal syndrome. This presents as: sweating, tremor, anxiety, nausea, vomiting, insomnia and hallucination. These signs can be worse as well for example the person can exhibits seizures, tachycardia, hypertension and fever within 2 days. Treatment is mostly supportive: staying in a place which is comfortable, away from people with lots of healthy fluids and food.
