Foleys catheter wrong use

In the foleys catheter mostly practice is to inflate the balloon with the normal saline but mind you that is the wrong thing to inject in the Foley's catheter because the NS is the CRYSTALLOID, which on long duration can be precipitate into the crystal which can block the one way valve. So what to use ?? Use the distilled water 🌊🌊 instead of NS I would like to share a story of incidence which happened in our hospital regarding this catheter The one inter has rupture the urinary tract of the patients because he don't know how to deflate the balloon so he just try to push the catheter out and rupture has happened So now the technique to deflate the balloon if the valve is block First you just price the valve with the needle and try to aspirat the fluid from the balloon If this doesn't work then Second cut the vavle side tube and try to aspirate if this also doesn't work then THIRD is USG guided suprapubic puncture of the balloon
