What are the different types of delusional disorders?
A condition in which the person cannot distinguish between what is real and what is not is called delusional disorder. It was previously known as paranoid disorder. The person belief of the delusion is so strong that they cannot be persuaded of it being untrue. The delusions are such that they might believe they are being followed, they might believe somebody is trying to murder them or loved ones are conspiring against them. There are several types of delusions: 1) erotomanic: the belief that someone important is in love with them and they might try to contact them or follow them. 2) Grandiose: They believe that they are very worthy and knowledgeable. 3) Jealous: they are always suspicious of their loved ones. 4) Persecutory: they think somebody is always plotting against them, they are being followed or being poisoned. 5) Somatic: they think they have a defect or a medical condition. 6) Mixed: 2 or more types together seen.
