Lymphedema, or lymphatic obstruction, is a long-term condition where excess fluid collects in tissues causing swelling (edema). Lymphedema commonly affects one of the arms or legs. In some cases, both arms or both legs may be affected. Some patients might experience swelling in the head, genitals, or chest. Lymphedema is incurable, but with the right treatment, it can be controlled.
It is seen manily in the post cancer patients where there is dissected lymph nodes & It's seen in lymphatic filariasis which is parasitic infection (if treated in early period of disease lymphedema is not going to happen)

In lymph edema first should reach to its cause & what l want to mention is that never put your pt.on diuretics it never work in lymph edema the only Rx that may help up to20-30persent is proper bandage .
